Naturally Sweet Erythritol is a natural sweetener that has a clean, sweet taste with no after-taste. Naturally Sweet Erythritol is 100% natural erythritol, is certified non-GMO and is Australia's best quality erythritol. It is made through fermentation and occurs naturally in a wide variety of foods, including many fruits and mushrooms, as well as in fermented foods such as cheese, wine, beer, and soy sauce. Naturally Sweet Erythritol can be used as a sugar substitute in a wide variety of applications that include beverages, confectionery, ice-cream, yoghurt, bakery items, chocolates and chewing gum. It is also used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
-Approximately 70% as sweet as sugar.
-Virtually no calories (approximately 0.2 kcal/g which is only 5% of sugar.)
-Has a zero glycaemic index (GI), does not raise plasma glucose or insulin levels and is suitable for diabetics or consumers on a special diet.
-It is resistant to metabolism by oral bacteria and is, as a result tooth-friendly.
I started with smaller packs and moved up to the 2500kg bags x 3 because then I get free shipping. And I use it all up and order more, so it makes sense to get the bigger packs which are cheaper per kg.
I used to use Xylitol but moved to Erythritol because it has zero GI. I have not experienced any problems with taking it. Goes well in kale shakes and sugar free Keto cookies. When making sugar free chocolate, I put it in a blender for about 20 - 30 seconds and it turns to dust so it is very fine and goes fine in chocolate but it has a cool feel to it so I usually also use Sweetleaf Stevia Drops and Monk Fruit Extract drops which all together makes a very good sweet taste.
